The D model is the first dirt steering wheel that Max Papis Innovations ever produced. It was developed with the help of Donny Schatz, the most successful dirt racer in history. The D3 is the evolution of the popular D2 models, representing the current pinnacle of the MPI dirt line of wheels. It was engineered using all the technology developed for the stock car models to create the most advanced, safest, and ergonomic dirt steering wheel on the market. D3 shares the MPI Safety structure and all the innovative properties that made the D2 the most popular dirt steering wheel in the market—with some added features born from the feedback of several dirt racers around the globe. What makes the D3 wheel unique is the innovative grip feeling, the attention to detail in its construction, and the MPI technology used to improve its safety. The inner structure was engineered to deform under elevated impacts, absorbing the load and reducing the effect on the driver's upper body—an engineered safety advantage. Max Papis Innovations' DOH60 model is a multifunctional steering wheel that has seen widespread use in off-road, track days, drifting, and tuning applications. The inner structure has been engineered to deform under elevated impacts, safely absorbing the load and reducing the effect on the driver's upper body. The inner foam injection was developed to have the highest vibration absorption rate in the industry. The generous constant oval shaped grip, in combination with flat shaped thumbs insert, facilitates letting the wheel spin rapidly in driver's hands without the fingers interfering with the spoke. The new aluminum medium dish structure allows the wheel to come toward the driver to facilitate the usage of aftermarket MPI hubs or quick-releases. Two different covering materials are offered, both featuring the MPI Orange marker: Suede and Pixel. The selected suede covering and its parallel MPI Orange hand-stitched finish give a very high grip feel—reducing the effort needed to hold the wheel while increasing driver feeling and giving a sporty look. This is the preferred material for drifting and tuner usage.
