They reduce accessory drag, which typically creates about 12.5 HP at the rear wheels and eliminates belt throwing. These 3-piece pulley kits are available in both aluminum and steel sets. Aluminum sets are machined from 6061-T6 billet aluminum for extra strength. They are hand-polished and then covered with a "no polishing" clear powdercoated finish. They're also given a durable hard coating on the crank pulley to prevent oil seal leaks, and on the water pump pulleys to prevent premature wear.
