Losi Promoto-SM FXR Supermoto RTR RC Motorcycles
Powering off the line, speeding down straights, and leaning through curves and turns, a unique harmony develops between a bike and its rider. The two intuitively become one. Despite its power, the two-wheeler feels light and nimble as it reacts instantly to your cues — as if it's simply an extension of you. That's also how it feels to drive Losi Promoto RC bikes. The Losi Promoto-MX was the first RC dirt bike to accurately reproduce the full experience and pure fun of riding a real motorcycle. Now, for on-road RC and motorcycle fans, Losi presents the Promoto-SM—the most authentic FXR Supermoto experience ever offered in a radio-control bike. The Promoto-SM is particularly well-suited for concrete, asphalt, blacktop, and other hard surfaces found at neighborhood streets, local parks, and parking lots. Key differences from the Promoto-MX include new Pro-Line Racing OE (Original Equipment) SM street tires on smaller wheels, a more powerful front brake caliper, and revised lean bar wheels. The Promoto-SM can lean farther than its dirt bike counterpart, and the lean bar tires decrease noise and offer better traction on hard surfaces. The Losi Promoto-SM also looks like a true supermoto bike. Its distinctive visual details include hand guards, shortened front fender, and officially licensed FXR graphics and rider gear. What the Promoto-SM shares with the breakthrough Promoto-MX is an innovative blend of mechanical and electronic technology that work together to provide a realistic experience that no other RC bike can touch. The electronics include a 2700Kv motor and steel flywheel that are both mounted in the center of the frame. The motor spins the flywheel at over 22,000 rpm to create a gyroscopic force for unparalleled stability. Patent-pending Spektrum MS6X technology takes your input from the Spektrum DX3PM transmitter and commands the Promoto-SM to lean, turn, and wheelie with unprecedented balance and finesse. The mechanical technology is equally impressive. Losi's product development team studied full-size motorcycle suspension geometry to give Promoto RC bikes the same terrain handling characteristics. A rising rate rear suspension provides superior grip and prevents bottoming out in landings. Their completely new front fork design, with an internal spring and dampener, can be tuned by changing the silicone dampening fluid and also allows ride height adjustments. An innovative front and rear wheel braking system adds impressive stopping power, cutting the stopping distance in half compared to rear brake only. Both technologies, electronic and mechanical, are why the Promoto platform performs better at high and low speeds than any previous RC motorcycle. Losi Promoto-MX RC Motorcycles aren't the first scale RC motorcycle that's ever been sold, but it is the first one that accurately reproduces the full experience of riding a real motorcycle or dirt bike. From the realism of the handling and control to its agility and versatility while maintaining balance, the Losi Promoto-MX RC motorcycle was designed from the ground up through a unique hybrid of mechanical and electronic technology that lets you drive like never before. Losi product developers teamed up with the engineers at Spektrum RC, innovators of AS3X and SAFE, to reinvent those stabilization technologies not only for a surface vehicle, but one with only two wheels that requires balance to work. Patent-pending Spektrum MS6X continuously calculates bike's positioning relative to gravity, takes into account the inputs from the transmitter, and gives the proper outputs to throttle and steering to push the bike towards the correct desired positioning. No other RC product on the market has a suspension like the Promoto-MX. Losi studied the suspension geometry and technology of full-size motorcycles to give it the same terrain handling characteristics. The front suspension takes a unique approach to RC shocks with a front fork and internal dampener and spring. It's adjustable, rebuildable, and looks like the real deal. The Promoto-MX also has a rising rate rear suspension, just like a real motorcycle. It starts soft around ride height but stiffens as the shock goes deeper into its travel, keeping the bike from bottoming out on flat landings. The heart of the Promoto-MX powertrain is a robust Spektrum Smart Brushless System, featuring a brushless motor and Smart ESC. It gets you moving out of the gate HOT, with enough torque to clear large triples and 40+ mph top speeds on a 2S LiPo battery. The durable drivetrain is true to scale, with chain drive that lets your rear tire rip whenever you're ready to send it! An innovative front and rear wheel braking system does its part to give the bike impressive stopping power, cutting the stopping distance in half compared to rear brake only. Knowing the Promoto-MX would exceed eight pounds, the Losi product development team "overdesigned" critical areas so it would have the extra support needed to withstand hard-hitting dirt bike action. The innovative front crash structure is rigid during normal running, but absorbs front impacts by compressing until the front tire bottoms into the chassis frame. That protects the front fork tubes from bending, keeping them safe and true. Included skid plates guard critical components from rocks and debris, and a twin aluminum plate chassis shields all of the bike's electronics. All of this technology is topped off with a realistic rider featuring fully licensed apparel, made from actual cloth, as well as a fully detailed helmet and goggles.
