Howards Cams Big Daddy Rattler camshafts are street performance cams designed to give a nice aggressive-sounding idle without sacrificing throttle response and horsepower gains. Big Daddy camshafts are top dog in the Rattler lineup, and as such they offer a rough idle, and are best used in Pro Street or street/strip applications. Compression needs to be at least 9.5:1, the torque converter needs to stall 2,800 rpm or higher, and a performance intake manifold, steeper gears, and free-flowing exhaust are required to take advantage of the camshaft's capabilities.

Howards Cams Rattler camshafts build solid power and a classic sound while retaining drivability. They feature wider lobe centers and use a more aggressive ramp rate to help with air velocity. Although their design is for high-performance street use, they also work well with a stock torque converter. Howards Cams recommends using their Rattler camshafts with a converter stalling above 1,800 rpm and a set of steeper rear-end gears.

The specially designed grinds were created to provide a noticeable idle and strong throttle response. This series of camshafts require the use of an improved intake manifold, 4-barrel carburetor, free-flow exhaust, and 2,200 to 2,500 stall rpm torque converter. Upgrading your ignition system and a utilizing a 3.20 to 3.90 gear ratio will provide additional performance. Street Force 3 camshafts also feature 112 degree lobe separations to help maintain vacuum. They're available for a variety of year/make and engine applications.
