They operate totally wireless and there is no modification needed to your helmet. These lights have a sending unit that connects to the brake light. A bright, multi-functional LED display is powered by 2 AA batteries and the transmitter works off of the 12 V power supply on your ride. *Does not replace rear brake lights.
