In 1938, Vic Edelbrock built his first intake manifold so he could get more power from his 1932 Ford roadster. After some modification, his “slingshot” manifold helped his flathead Ford set a new quarter mile record. Edelbrock heat shrink coolant hose clamps offer the ultimate seal—a unique maintenance-free design that retains tension and never needs re-tightening. Plus, they're easy to install and only require an ordinary heat gun. Simply place the clamp over the fittings and hose, then apply heat to seal! They are ideal for preventing leaks on out-of-round applications, and will conform to any shape of hose, housing or fitting. Edelbrock's Performer carburetors feature 2-piece, all-aluminum construction for cooler operating temperatures and less warping. There are no gaskets below the fuel bowl level for fewer leaks, and no plastic parts or power valves to blow out. The carbs use easily changed metering rods for precise tuning, non-adjustable secondary air valves—and the primary venturi booster is a bottom-feed design for smoother acceleration and better drivability. An Owner's Manual is included with every Edelbrock carburetor. Edelbrock Performer RPM Air-Gap intake manifolds incorporate race-winning technology that's been used on Victor Series competition intakes for years. The open air space from the Air-Gap design separates the runners from the heat of the lifter-valley cover. So, the air/fuel mixture stays cooler all the way to the heads, which produces a denser charge for more power.
