Exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) is actually an emissions reduction technique used in gasoline and diesel engines. The system works by recirculating a portion of the engine's exhaust gas back into the engine cylinders, diluting the oxygen and providing gases that benefit combustion. Dorman Oil Catch Can Kits
Carbon deposits form on intake valves and other engine components via the oil mist of blow-by gases from the PCV system. On gasoline direct-injection engines this problem is compounded as there is no fuel to wash the oil mist off the back of the valves. Carbon deposit build-up can cause engine performance to suffer, often setting off diagnostic trouble codes. The solution for removal can be costly … until now.
