DEI's Adapt-A-Shield XT heat shields are a formable, flexible, extreme heat barrier to reflect engine and exhaust heat from components and protect against abrasion. Made from a aluminum with a poly-glass backing, the shields can be easily cut with scissors or a utility knife, then molded and shaped by hand to fit tight, irregular spaces without special tools. Easy installation, no adhesives or complex fabrication required, the heat shields can be fastened simply using DEI stainless steel ties, straps, or similar fasteners. DO NOT apply directly to exhaust components. DEI Floor and Tunnel Shields II add a new dimension to heat control with minimal clearance needed--only 3/16 in.! Constructed utilizing an embossed aluminum face bonded to a composite fiberglass insulation and backed with an aggressive adhesive that holds past 450 degrees F, these barrier sheets are capable of handling direct temperatures up to 1,750 degrees F. The shields are tough enough for under-vehicle applications. They're also great as a sound barrier, blocking out up to 50 percent of unwanted road noise.
