The sleeves are made from high-temperature Mil Spec black heat shrink, and are tough enough to handle extreme underhood temperatures. The high shrink ratio of 3:1 allows the markers to slide over plug boot ends and still shrink tightly to the wires. It provides excellent electrical insulation and protection from dust, solvents, and other foreign material, as well as strain relief. It slips easily over wire connectors and shrinks down to 33 percent of its original diameter to fit snugly over wires and connectors for a watertight seal without a reduction in tube length.
