COMP Cams XD-A Pushrod Shims

COMP designed their XD-A adjustable pushrods with a top section that slides 2 in. inside a wider bottom section, with one or two shims captured in-between. These COMP Cams XD-A pushrod shims allow the pushrods to be adjusted over a range of 0.172 in. in 0.004 in. increments. Order the shim thickness and quantity needed.

COMP Cams short travel XD hydraulic roller lifters offer the advantages of both light pre-load and reduced oil volume, producing the most stable and highest-revving hydraulic lifter available. The XD versions feature heavy-duty tool steel pushrod seats. This adds strength and durability in extreme-duty applications, such as turbo drag cars and offshore powerboats. Certain engines respond better to a light lifter pre-load because it recovers more quickly from any bad harmonics in the valvetrain. Others work better with a heavy pre-load because oil volume is reduced under the plunger, which increases lifter stiffness.
