When building a high performance engine with a solid or solid roller cam, it's necessary to meter the amount of oil going through the lifters and up to the rocker arms. Too much oil to the top will starve the main and rod bearings and cause engine failure. COMP Cams oil restrictors are easy-to-use parts and should be considered when installing a solid lifter or a solid roller camshaft. Simply screw directly into the oil gallery with no machine work.

COMP Cams oil pump primer tools allow the oil pump to be primed and the engine prelubed prior to initial start up. This eliminates the chance of a "dry start" and premature engine damage. COMP Cams primers drop in place of the distributor, and with the use of a drill, spin the oil pump to supply oil to critical engine components. These patent-pending pushrods incorporate a top section that slides 2 in. inside a wider bottom section, with one or two shims captured in-between. Proven to 9,000-plus rpm in solid roller LS applications, the system provides a 90 percent increase in bending stiffness for enhanced valvetrain stability. It also allows for lightening of a rocker arm system by 30-plus grams on the backside by removing the adjuster and required support area for threads and seating. The use of lighter rockers with XD-A adjustable pushrods allow higher rpm to be achieved by creating a much more dynamically stable valvetrain system. COMP Cam XD-A pushrods are designed especially for engines with low-mass rocker arms and a light valvetrain with drop-in fitment in LS engines. They can be adjusted over a range of .172 in. in .004 in. increments with shims. Choose the pushrods with the adjustment range needed for your setup.

COMP Cams offers a complete line of valve seals, from the stock GM O-rings to the positive-stop PTFE seals. They are a must to keep unwanted oil from entering the combustion chamber through the clearance in the valve guides. The O-ring seals use the standard retainer and oil splash shield. The umbrella seals are normally used when a larger-than-stock diameter spring is used. In the case of a double spring, the positive stop PTFE seals are used. For triple-spring applications, use the smaller-diameter Viton® seals.

Valve springs are one of the most critical and overlooked components in your engine. They must be matched to your cam in order for the engine to reach its full potential.
