For the enthusiast who chooses a solid lifter cam, COMP Cams offers the highest quality solid lifters available today. These lifters are manufactured using the tightest tolerances in the industry, ensuring optimum performance. The crown of the lifters is ground to a precise radius for proper break-in and to guarantee long life. The oil-metering band is milled to the correct depth to prevent too much oil from being delivered to the top of the motor, and to prevent horsepower loss. Order the size and quantity needed for your engine application.

If being able to adjust your cam timing quickly and easily is a top priority, then COMP Cams Ultimate Adjustable billet timing sets could be the answer. They have 2-piece billet steel cam sprockets, which let you change cam timing without removing the degree wheel or releasing the valvetrain load, and there's no cam bushing to break. Timing can be varied from 6 degrees retarded to 6 degrees advanced. Chains are heavy-duty, double-row types with hefty 0.250 in. rollers. A one-piece roller thrust bearing handles unwanted end loads.

COMP Cams camshaft checking tools work with any of your standard dial indicators. The cam checking tools slide down into the lifter bore and ride on top of the camshaft in order to help measure lobe lift and base circle runout. The tools are double-ended and feature an O-ring on each end to securely hold them in the lifter bore and come complete with two followers—one for flat tappet or hydraulic cams and one for roller cams. With COMP Cams camshaft checking tools, you can accurately measure lobe lift for your GM, Ford, Chrysler, or Top Fuel. These quality tools are much easier to use and more precise than using a magnetic indicator base when degreeing a cam and help ensure the camshaft is installed correctly and within specifications, which is vital for long-term reliability.

Developed by one of NASCAR's top engine builders, COMP Cams lifter bore grooving tools precisely groove your lifter bores to ensure that pressure fed oil is directly injected into the contact area between lifter and camshaft. This increased oiling significantly reduces wear on the camshaft and lifters, and minimizes the risk of premature failure during break-in. This machining operation to the block is quick, easy, inexpensive, and the best insurance for a new camshaft. The replaceable carbon cutters are available separately. Tools come complete with cutter and handle.

COMP Cams's XD-A pushrods offer a game-changing method for accurately setting lash or pre-load while using non-adjustable-style rockers. These patent-pending pushrods incorporate a top section that slides 2 in. inside a wider bottom section, with one or two shims captured in-between. Proven to 9,000-plus rpm in solid roller LS applications, the system provides a 90 percent increase in bending stiffness for enhanced valvetrain stability. It also allows for lightening of a rocker arm system by 30-plus grams on the backside by removing the adjuster and required support area for threads and seating. The use of lighter rockers with XD-A adjustable pushrods allow higher rpm to be achieved by creating a much more dynamically stable valvetrain system. COMP Cam XD-A pushrods are designed especially for engines with low-mass rocker arms and a light valvetrain with drop-in fitment in LS engines. They can be adjusted over a range of .172 in. in .004 in. increments with shims. Choose the pushrods with the adjustment range needed for your setup.

Save valuable time during engine assembly and tuning with COMP Cams crankshaft stroke gauge stands. They are designed to work with various engine types and can be used with dial calipers, making them a valuable and versatile tool for engine builders. These units do the same job as the more expensive stroke gauges, except that they use a set of 0-6 in. dial calipers (not included) instead of a long range dial indicator. Just set it up on the crankshaft main journals, zero the calipers at the top of the rod journal, then rotate the crank to the bottom of the stroke and take your reading to .001 in. You can even use this versatile tool on assembled short blocks by zeroing the calipers on the piston at TDC and measuring down to BDC.

Valve springs are one of the most critical and overlooked components in your engine. They must be matched to your cam in order for the engine to reach its full potential. It does absolutely no good to install a cam that will perform up to 8,000 rpm if you do not have the correct springs. Use the only valve springs that will give the recommended spring pressure with the valve both on the seat and at maximum lift. COMP Cams valve springs are offered in single and dual styles to meet your cam requirements.
