CA offers headlight door open warning switches for a variety of applications, including numerous Chevy Corvette models from the 1960s, '70s, and '80s. These replacements activate a warning light or chime when the headlight doors (on cars with pop-up headlights) are open while the headlights are on. They're part of the vehicle's safety and warning system, designed to prevent drivers from damaging the doors by opening them while the car is moving at high speeds.

* The switch detects the position of the headlight door. When the headlights are switched on but the doors are not fully open, the switch completes a circuit, which triggers the warning light and/or a chime.
