Briggs & Stratton spark plugs position the spark approximately 1/16 in. into the combustion chamber and feature colder heat ranges that use a shortened ground electrode. This design aids in exposing the spark to the air/fuel mixture to help prevent pre-ignition from an overheated ground electrode. The spark plugs are constructed with a nickel shell for faster heat dissipation and a copper core (or double core) for further heat removal.
