Borgeson Universal power to manual steering conversion kits are a great way to go if you want to shed 28 lbs. and free up some extra horsepower. The Vega 140 steering box is not adequate for midsize cars, so Borgeson only uses the 525 box. Each conversion kit contains a 525 box, a pitman arm, and a half rag joint.

Borgeson Steering Box Rebuild Kits
Borgeson steering box rebuild kits are designed to convert a stock manual box to a short input for use with aftermarket steering columns. These major rebuild kits include all necessary components to completely rebuild your original Tri-5 manual steering box. Borgeson offers these kits in two different ratios with your choice of original long input shaft or a shortened input shaft for use with aftermarket steering columns. Borgeson Shortened Stock Column Shift Steering Columns
Borgeson shortened stock column shift steering columns maintain original column shift function with power steering conversion. These columns work with 1957 Chevy cars that have column shift automatic transmissions. The shortened design allows proper fit and clearance when using conversion steering boxes. You must use part number 055049 rag joint to connect this column to the conversion box properly. The replacement columns keep the original look and shift pattern while working with modern power steering; and their stock style appearance maintains your car's original interior design. Installation requires removing your original column and installing this shortened version. Basic mechanical skills and tools are needed for proper installation. The column construction handles regular use and provides smooth shift operation.

Borgeson Universal Street and Performance Series Steering Boxes
Borgeson's Street and Performance Series steering boxes are modern quick ratio units specially designed to replace the Saginaw/Delphi 800 Series in 1965 and up GM vehicles and 1968-86 Chevy C10 and K10 trucks. These Street and Performance power steering boxes will bolt directly to the stock location and fit to the original power steering pitman arms. Adapters are included with each steering box to be able to use either O-ring or flare style hose connections. All Borgeson power steering boxes are assembled and quality tested in-house to ensure you get the best possible replacement for your vehicle. Note: Vehicles switching from manual steering will require a power steering pitman arm (not included).
