Bilstein Replacement Gland Nuts
Bilstein replacement gland nuts, also known as a strut cap or threaded retainer, are designed specifically to secure Bilstein front strut inserts into the factory strut housings, particularly for older BMW models. Intended as replacements for lost, damaged, or stripped gland nuts, these small but vital parts are commonly used when switching from factory (e.g., Boge) struts to Bilstein inserts, which often have thicker shafts and require a different thread size, often fitting BMW 2002 models. They frequently incorporate an integrated wiper seal to keep debris out of the strut housing. While new Bilstein strut inserts often come with these nuts, the E4-B30-627B1 is sold separately for instances where the original is stripped, lost, or not provided.
