BD VVB technology takes advantage of your Chevy Duramax's turbocharger exhaust turbine to create up to 35 psi of backpressure/130 retarding horsepower. This gives you ample braking force to help you safely maintain your speeds on descents and curves, also giving you better control. So, the Garrett variable vane turbo designed to reduce turbo lag and increase power also helps to slow you down! BD's variable vane brake rotary switch electronically controls the vanes in the turbo and offers automatic moderate and aggressive downshifting programs for the Allison transmission, as well as working in Allison manual shift selections.
