They include studs made from 8740 chromoly steel and heat-treated in-house to 190,000 psi tensile-strength rating. The precision J-form threads are rolled after heat-treat for much stronger threads than the competition. Kits come complete with hardened parallel-ground washers and high-quality nuts. ARP Custom Age 625+ Cylinder Head Stud Kits
ARP Custom Age 625+ cylinder head studs are centerless ground, heat-treated prior to thread rolling and machining, nominally rated at 270,000 psi tensile strength, and are reusable as compared to OEM Torque-to-Yield (TTY) head bolts. Their main attributes are optimum design, enhanced reliability, and increased strength. Each kit includes a set of Custom Age 625+ studs, chromoly steel nuts, hardened and parallel ground washers, and a 1/2 oz. pack of ARP Ultra-Torque fastener assembly lubricant. Select the stud kit designed for your vehicle. * Custom Age 625 Plus is a super-alloy with superior fatigue cycle life, tensile strength and toughness--with complete resistance to atmospheric corrosion and oxidation. ARP is the first to develop manufacturing and testing processes for fasteners with Custom Age 625+. Typical tensile strength is 260,000 to 280,000 psi.
