Rotor and pad temperatures greatly affect the braking performance of a vehicle and controlling brake rotor temperatures, allowing them to operate in their optimal range, is the easiest way to improve lap times. Alcon brake disc temperature paint kits contain three paints calibrated to change color at a specific temperature, providing a range of 842 to 1,202 degrees F (450 to 650 degrees C). The single color change makes the paints easy to read and provide a quick alternative method for measuring rotor temperatures. Determine whether the operating temperature is correct for your chosen pad compound with an Alcon temperature paint kit.
