Advance Adapters GM LS Adapter Flywheels
Advance Adapters GM LS adapter flywheels are designed to bridge the gap between modern GM LS engines (Gen III/IV) and older GM or popular aftermarket manual transmissions. These specialized replacements feature a unique offset and bolt pattern to accommodate the LS crank's depth, ensuring full clutch disc engagement for conversions in Jeeps, trucks, and classic vehicles where you want an LS engine with a manual stick shift. Additional details: * Corrects crank depth: LS engines have a crankshaft that sits slightly further in than older small blocks, so these flywheels are thicker (or designed to offset) to position the clutch disc correctly for proper input shaft engagement * Specific bolt patterns: They feature the correct bolt pattern for the LS engine's crank and are designed for specific pressure plates, often for 11 in. clutches * Internal balancing: LS engines are internally balanced, which is different from older externally balanced V8s, so the flywheel itself is designed for the LS platform * Lightweight and strong: Made from billet steel, designed for durability and sometimes relieved to maintain a specific weight * Why you need one: When putting an LS engine into an older vehicle or swapping from an automatic to a manual transmission, you can't just use a standard flywheel.
