Traction Bars & Traction Bar Kits

Traction bars or traction bar kits—also called slapper bars or anti-hop bars—secure the axle against the frame, so all the power goes to the pavement instead.

Traction bars or traction bar kits—also called slapper bars or anti-hop bars—secure the axle against the frame, so all the power goes to the pavement instead.

Massive rear wheel torque can cause axle wrap, wheel hop, tire spin and leaf spring wind-up. For drag racers, this can spoil your burnouts and hard launches, and for heavy haulers, this can cause driveline vibration and poor handling. In both cases, you also run the risk of catastrophic damage.

RideTech Ford F-150 Traction Bar Kits

Eliminating wheel hop and tire chatter during acceleration is the primary role of the traction bar system. With modern big horsepower and large sticky tires the stock leaf spring suspension in the F150 is prone to providing considerable issues. Working in conjunction with the RideTech lowering system, RideTech Ford F150 traction bar kits eliminate these ill effects and provide hard launching, plus smooth and powerful acceleration both from a straight line and coming out of a corner. They require the complete rear Ridetech lowering system to be installed … and together will get your F150 planted and riding smooth and comfortable for the long haul.

UMI Performance 1964-72 GM A-Body Rear Lift Bars

UMI Performance lift bars replace your stock rear control arms, adding tremendous track gains, while not affecting ride height and keeping ride quality at its best. These lift bars are designed to work with axle torque to load the chassis of the car, forcing the rear wheels downward, while pushing the tires into the ground for harder launches and improved 60 ft. times. All sway bar holes are reinforced with a 0.120 in. thick steel sleeve wall, TIG-welded, and then sanded into place. The rear mounting brackets feature two settings that allow the lift bar to be lowered 2 in. or 3 in., depending upon user preference and the vehicle's suspension setup. These lift bars also correct lost geometry and instant center on a lowered vehicle. Add a set of our adjustable upper control arms for maximum rear suspension setup!

Summit Racing™ Southside Lift Bars

Summit has partnered with the new owners of Southside Machine to bring back the classic Southside Machine™ lift bars. The design of these lift bars stiffens the lower the rear lower control arm and lowers the mounting point to relocate the instant center further back in the car. This allows the rear suspension to separate on launch or acceleration and lift the car up which in turn pushes down on or plants the tire. These original-style bars are made with heavy gauge, boxed steel tubing that won't flex or bend, and they're black powdercoated to resist scratches, chips, rusting, and corrosion. Special Delrin bushings (included) help to reduce and eliminate twisting and bushing bind. Installation hardware is included.
