Overview

URO Parts Alternator Pulleys

Since failing to install the correct replacement design could cause severe damage to a vehicle's belt drive system, URO Parts alternator pulleys are available in three styles. In addition to conventional solid pulleys, they offer overrunning alternator pulleys (OAPs) with a one-way clutch that allows the alternator to coast when the engine decelerates quickly or is shut down; eliminating "chirp" sounds when the belt slips.

Millions of vehicles are now factory-equipped with overrunning alternator decoupler (OAD) pulleys that play a vital role in synchronizing belt drive systems for smooth, efficient, low-stress operation. URO Parts alternator pulleys are also offered in this third style since, when replacing an OAD-equipped alternator or pulley, the only acceptable choice is another OAD unit.
