Tanks Inc. GPA Series fuel pumps are designed to be used in many die-stamped, alloy-coated, and stainless steel gas tanks which have factory-installed reservoir trays. The tray is an absolute necessity for fuel injection in order to prevent fuel starvation when accelerating and cornering. These pumps are available in four different operating ranges in order to supply up to 1,000 hp. An internal wiring harness, supply line, return line, filter sock, and insulator sleeve are included. The heavy 10-gauge, no-warp mounting plate contains fittings for the supply, the return, the vent, and the electrical connector.

The kit I purchased comes with the straps, that's all you should need. If your two bolts are bad any hardware store will have them

I am fixing a 1967 Mustang that the owner's late father installed an LT1 engine from a 1994 Camaro into. The tank sat with gas in it for 6 or 7 years and needs replacing I need to find a tank and pump that can be used on this car. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Thank you for your question. The Tanks Inc. GPA-4 fuel pump is designed for applications that use factory installed fuel reservoir trays only. A better option is the Tanks Inc. PA-4, which designed for use in their TF28A fuel tank for your 1967 Ford Mustang. This PA Series fuel pump kit features an adjustable reservoir tray that eliminates fuel pump starvation that is common on non-baffled tanks.

Q:

Could this be altered for a deeper tank with longer pump and return hoses? Are the wires long enough for a 14" deep tank?

A:

Yes. The instructions and parts allow you to adjust the height of the pump assembly depth based of your tank. You measure the depth of the tank then cut the tube between the pump and fuel outlet to give you the correct height. It comes with a long tube you shorten.

Pump works great, but seals....not so much

Pump easily feeds my low 11 second Chevelle, but the included rubber gaskets/seals, are already weeping gas on my first fillup. I have read many others also having this issue, but unfortunately didn't see that BEFORE installing mine. Mine were installed 100% as instructed, and I am mechanic of 35 years, so no shortcuts...just poor designed gaskets... ...read more

Come on Summit/Tanks inc. Who sells amy thing that needs but does not come with a gasket and hardware. Now I have to jump through a bunch if hoops to find the stuff that should be in the box with the pump KIT. Tanks PA-4 retro kit requires a 4-1/4” cutout and 6” surface footprint that accommodates a 4” X 12” reservoir tray eliminating fuel pump starvation in non-baffled tanks. I was attracted to Tank’s GPA-4 series fuel pump based on dimensional limitations. Tanks GPA-4 is made to drop into a Tanks baffled body, with a 2-1/8” cutout and a 3-1/4” surface footprint. My home-built tank is 10-1/4” deep with a baffled floor area of 7-1/2” X 12” while tilting forward providing a top surface mounting limitation of 4” X 12”. I also installed Tank’s, T-VDO-10, tube fuel sending unit based on its 2-1/2” column footprint. The tank will be sealed with KBS Fuel Tank Sealer Kit KCO-53000. Purchased this Walbro GPA-4 pump for my recent stock LS3 65 chevelle transplant and the first pump out of the box was bad. It was loud and screamed while not supplying a consistent fuel supply causing a bit of low idle surge. The threads on the Supply and Return were not 1/4" NPT. The threads were machined incorrectly. Summit was very helpful in getting me a new pump with good threads. I asked them to check the threads before they sent the new pump to me. Original pump came from Sparks and the new pump came from Arlington. The new pump box had been opened, so I assume they checked the threads before they sent it to me. New pump threads were good and I am up and running.
