Turbosmart Turbocharger LockSleeves

Turbosmart turbocharger LockSleeves are weld-free, boost-ready adapters that let you connect intercooler piping directly to a turbocharger's compressor cover. They eliminate the need for TIG-welding metal rings onto the housing, which is usually required to use premium, leak-proof motorsport clamps (like Vibrant HD or Plazmaman).

* How They Work:
-- An analogy for the LockSleeve is a specialized, leak-proof locking nut for your plumbing. Instead of permanently melting metal to join two pipes, it uses mechanical clamping.
-- The Collar: The sleeve is a 2-piece threaded collar that easily slides onto the turbo's compressor outlet.
-- The Seal: Inside, it uses internal O-rings and split rings.
-- The Lock: As you screw and torque the two halves of the collar together, it compresses the inner O-ring to create an airtight seal.

* Why People Use Them:
-- No Welding Required: They eliminate the need to weld a metal ferrule to cast aluminum. Welding requires specialized skills and risks warping the compressor cover, which can cause the internal wheel to scrape against the housing.
-- High-Pressure Security: They hold exceptionally well under pressure. They are tested to safely seal up to 150 psi without blowing off or leaking.
-- Adjustability: Unlike a welded joint, the non-destructive design of a LockSleeve lets you adjust or rotate the clamp's position at the track using basic hand tools.
-- Varieties: They come in standard straight designs, as well as 90 degree bends to help route tubing in tight engine bays.
