Overview

Surco Basket Rack Installation Mounting Adapters

Surco basket rack installation mounting adapters are specialized brackets and hardware that connect a Surco roof rack cargo basket to a vehicle's existing roof rails, tracks, or rain gutters. They act as crucial links for custom, secure, and often drill-free setups, with different adapters designed for specific vehicle types (Jeeps, SUVs, vans) to ensure compatibility with factory systems or Surco's own roof rail systems.

What the mounting adapters do:

* Bridge the gap: They bridge the difference between your vehicle's roof attachment points (like factory rails or gutters) and the base of your Surco Safari or Adventure cargo basket
* Provide versatility: They allow you to mount a basket on vehicles that don't have factory crossbars or even on older vehicles with rain gutters, using specific adapter kits
* Ensure fit: Adapters are often year, make, and model specific to guarantee a precise and secure fit
* Types of adapters:
-- Track mount adapters: Slide into or clamp onto factory or Surco roof rail tracks, commonly found on modern SUVs
-- Gutter mount adapters: Fasten directly to a vehicle's rain gutters, ideal for older vehicles like Jeeps or certain vans
-- Clamp-on adapters: Use clamps to attach directly to existing crossbars or rails without needing tracks, often fitting around the bars themselves
