Camshaft Manufacturers Description: The Summit Stage 1 High-lift Vortec truck engine swap cam is great for a daily driver and produces incredible torque right off idle. It's makes more power through the rpm range with higher lift, yet remains durable with proven LS6 valve springs. It also works as as a stealth cam in daily driven cars. Idle speed can be tuned for smooth idle or a noticeable lope. It uses a state-of-the-art lobe designs to pull strongly past 6200 rpm.

Quantity: Sold individually.

Notes: Not for AFM or VVT equipped engines. Summit Pro LS cams are designed for engines swapped into pre-pollution controlled vehicles. They are not for use in registered emissions-controlled vehicles operated on public highways and roads. 3-bolt camshaft, computer tuning required.

In-Store Pickup: Choose In-store pick-up (OH, NV, GA, TX) on our web site.

The Summit Racing Pro LS Truck Swap cams are affordable and give you maximum punch where the torque converter hits. The cam lobes are designed for excellent valve train longevity. Both drop-in or high-lift versions are available. They come in stages allowing you to quickly determine which gives you the idle and efficiency you are looking for. Idle response and the midrange torque from theses camshafts is unmatched. Starting with American bearing steel, they are precision machined on a Landis 3LB CNC grinder with CBN diamond wheels for an extremely good finish quality. The lobes have been designed for stability at high rpm with the spring pressures found in commonly available, quality spring packs.

Questions & Answers Ask a Product Question
Q:

I’m putting this cam in a 4.8 liter vortec, what size pushrods do I need and what is the best timing chain to go with it?

Asked by TOBY on May 02, 2019

A:

Thank you for your question. The Summit 8719 Pro LS Vortec camshaft will need to have the pushrods measured for proper fit. Check out the Summit G6602R-B timing set that will fit this camshaft and any LS engine.

Answer This Question

Q:

what is the max spring seat and open pressure for this cam . thank you !

Asked by CHRIS on March 28, 2019

A:

Thank you for your question. The Summit 8719 Pro LS camshaft recommends 380 lbs. of open spring pressure. It is not recommended to run more than 20% more spring pressure than this in order to protect the lobe from damage.

nice little chop pulls nicely with no low end loss with nice charge to the top. Fantastic cam for the price !! I would recommend to anyone looking for a little more power with out the many additional costs of larger cams . It definitely woke my little 4.8 up . Thank you summit !!

great cam for the money

I put this in an otherwise totally stock 2004 suburban 2500 with a 6.0 lq4 and it woke it right up. It idles smoothly, it's quiet, and it makes power right where the converter hits, and really pulls hard to 6000 rpm. Mid range is vastly improved and part throttle drivability is great. It's not a race cam by any means, but it's a good kick in the pants for the ol burb. ...read more

I installed in 2013 Caprice with 6.0 aluminum block L77, engine has flat top pistons and ls3 style heads. Attached is wheel Dyno sheet. 379 hp and 388 tq to wheels. This was done on a dynomite hub Dyno. Car has stock 6l80 and 2.92 gears. Long tube headers, 2.25in dual exhaust. Cam drives very close to stock. Gets very peppy after 2k and just gets better from there.. tunner set idle at 740 rpm for best drivability. Before tune the stock idle rpm of 550 was to low car would die some times. ...read more
