Camshaft Manufacturers Description: The Summit Stage 1 Ghost cam has slightly negative valve overlap and works great as a sleeper/stealth cam. Although a stock converter can be used, a 2500-2800 rpm stall converter is recommended. It also works great as a turbo cam. It has state-of-the-art lobe designs stable to well over 7000 rpm with as little as 150 lbs. of seat pressure.

Notes: Not for AFM or VVT equipped engines. Summit Pro LS cams are designed for engines swapped into pre-pollution controlled vehicles. They are not for use in registered emissions-controlled vehicles operated on public highways and roads. 3-bolt camshaft, computer tuning required.

The Summit Racing Pro LS Automotive cams are affordable and designed in stages with very specific cam timing for each individual application and come in Cathedral and Rectangle port versions. This insures maximum performance and gives you the idle you are looking for. The lobes are designed for stability at high rpm with the spring pressures found in quality .600 and .670 in. spring packs. Careful design insures the cams can be installed with minimal difficulty. Although piston to valve clearance should always be verified, the stage two and three cams often allow for additional cylinder head milling. The stage four cams often require no changes, but can be degreed in slightly differently as needed. Starting with American bearing steel, they are precision machined on a Landis 3LB CNC grinder with CBN diamond wheels for unmatched quality.

I'm currently building an lm7 for my daily driven 2001 z71 extended cab Silverado 4x4. I'm turbocharging it using your Summit racing turbo SUM-260050-P. Since the turbo is fairly big, if I keep the boost levels to 10-12 psi, will this cam be sufficient and still give good road manners? Or would you suggest a step up to a better cam?

This would be a good cam choice for sure- good street manners and flows well, running it on multiple FI cars with different builds- would overly recommend a good 2800-3200 Stall converter to help the truck get going as there is a slight loss in power below 1400RPM with this setup - The stall converter isn't as much of an IDLE issue as it is a drivers powerband recommendation .

Would this work well in a 4.8 with 862 heads. The 4.8 will be in a car, probably standard trans with 3.73 gears. used as a weekend car on the street. Fuel injected. Not looking for big idle or anything crazy.

I wouldnt be jumping at this as my cam of choice in a 4.8. Something with less lift would be preffered but you could run this

I'm planning on building a 6.0L with these SLP-H1129CPA75MM pistons and 823 rect port heads. Just wonding what kind of piston to valve clearance to expect? What are the chances of having to cut valve reliefs in the pistons or get another set with the reliefs already in them? Not going to be running a turbo or spray.

Thank you for your question. The Summit 8715 Pro LS camshaft should not have any issues with the piston to valve clearance with a stock decked block and flat top pistons. As with any build, it is important to check clearance before final assembly to avoid issues.

Thank you for your question. The Summit 8715 Pro LS camshaft would work well with a centrifugal supercharger due to its low overlap and extended exhaust duration.

bang for the buck

I put this cam in a catback/cold air intake ls2 in a 2006 CTS-v and it's great. It doesn't make HUGE power, but it's barely noticable at idle and makes a lot more power in mid-range and especially part throttle. For the money, you can't go wrong with these cams.
