This Frame Extension is required for 1978-83 GM G-Bodies when installing a Summit® Tubular Transmission Crossmembers with a 200R4, TH400, T-56 or 4L80E transmission. It adds the second set of crossmember mounting holes to the driver side frame rail in the same location as the 1984 thru 1988 G-Body cars.
This part is included with the SUM-770303. There is a difference in fitment between the 1983-1984 model years. Please check the fitment guide located under the charts and guides tab to learn more about the difference and fitment.

Summit Racing™ steel transmission crossmembers allow you to run a true dual-exhaust system with most popular transmissions. They have a patented double-hump design, so you don't have to compromise ground clearance by running pipes under the crossmember, and they're a complete bolt-on deal—no custom fabricating or realignment is needed. The parts are made from 1/8 in. thick boxed tubing to handle the frame-twisting power of big blocks. Order the crossmember recommended for your vehicle and transmission application.
