Sonnax retaining rings are stamped from high-strength, roll-tempered steel, providing additional muscle to resist deflection better than mild steel OE retainers. Successful ET racing requires consistent transbrake release; that usually means utilizing stiffer springs—which leads to the need for stronger spring retainers that won't be deflected. Sonnax no-flex reverse spring retainers are small solutions to faster transbrake response times.
