Sealed Power Chrome Piston Ring Sets

Sealed Power chrome piston ring sets are noted for their high wear-resistance and low cylinder wear. The face of the top rings in these sets is electroplated with hard chromium to provide a surface that's resistant to abrasive wear. This face coating will not flake off, even when exposed to high vibration and detonation. Being harder and less porous than a moly ring, chrome rings provide increased life in engines that are operated in dusty or dirty environments. Chrome coatings are used mainly on top rings where mechanical and thermal loads are greatest, and on oil rings that have a particularly high unit pressure. With the load levels of modern internal combustion engines ever increasing, there's often a need to improve the thermal and/or mechanical load-carrying capacity of piston rings—and chrome is one solution. These piston rings are available in a wide range of bore sizes and thicknesses for applications from the 1940s and up.
