Shiftworks Reverse Valve Body Shifter Conversion Kits

Shiftworks reverse valve body shifter conversion kits are automotive upgrade packages that allow you to convert a classic, factory-style automatic floor shifter into a ratcheting "slap shift" to work with a reverse shift pattern transmission. A standard automatic transmission uses a "P-R-N-D-L" sequence (Park, Reverse, Neutral, Drive, Low). A reverse valve body is a racing or high performance setup that rearranges the internal fluid paths, giving a shift pattern of "P-R-N-1-2-3" or "P-R-N-1-2-3-4". Because a standard factory shifter is designed to pull straight down linearly, it physically cannot align with or safely prevent accidental gear drops into a reverse pattern without modification. These conversion kits take the guesswork out of upgrading an older vehicle to handle a modern or racing transmission.

Each kit is custom-tailored to specific car models (like classic Camaros or Chevelles), but generally includes:

* New Shifter Detent: A metal plate that governs the physical "clicks" and positions your shifter handle so it perfectly matches the reverse pattern.
* Shift Lever and Cable: Modern, flexible linkage brackets and cables to connect the physical shifter in the cabin to the transmission underneath.
* Console Gear Indicators: New lenses or dial plates that properly display your shifted gears.
* Neutral Safety Switch: A safety feature ensuring the car will only start in Park or Neutral.
