Questions & Answers Ask a Product Question
Q:

Does anyone know how low these sit are they going to be ground scrapers if the car hits a bump?

A:

I have them on a 67 Fairlane, no issues with hitting.

Q:

I have a 68 Falcon with a 289 with 351w heads. C4 auto trans. Would these fit? I'd be using a lokar floor shifter. Thanks

Asked by NICHOLAS on January 09, 2019

A:

These headers should fit your 68 Falcon with 289 and 351w heads. The only problems you might run into is you may have to dimple the LH header as it may hit the pitman arm in sharp RH turns and if you have a C4 trans that uses a 164 tooth bell housing you might have to grind a bit off one of the ears on the LH side of the bell housing.

Thank you,

Q:

will these headers fit with a 1966 Mustang with 302 and a 4 speed with the factory equalizer bar? The engine is a late model roller that I have to add a pivot mount as well since these blocks do not have the hole in the block to accommodate the pivot ball. Car also has factory power steering? Help as I am tired of searching for exhaust that will work...

Asked by SHAWN M on March 20, 2018

A:

Thank you for your question. The Scott Drake C5ZZ-9430-BK headers will fit your 1966 Ford Mustang with small block 302 engine and manual transmission. However, you will also need to purchase the Scott Drake DBPP-10961-A power steering bracket to complete the installation.

Will work great if you have an automatic. These will not work with a T5 transmission and a clutch cable set up :( hopefully I can save someones money. Summit racing still rocks, great service from them like always!

Look Closely At Them

Summit RacingSummit Racing Verified Purchase

SDK-C5ZZ-9430-BK
Headers seem to be OK however the driver side header has some not-so-well-done painted-over dents which isn't a huge issue for me because I may well have to modify them to fit a 351W in a '91 Ranger but if I were buying them for a Mustang I probably would have been a little upset...

69 fairlane with a 302 and power steering.

Looked good for the price out of the box. Passenger side went on without a problem. Driver side was a nightmare. There was not enough clearance to get the bolts by the tubes for three of the mounting holes. Had to reuse the old stock bolts. The collector was then hitting the power steering rack no matter how I turned the wheel. My car has a C4 and it looked like it may have interfered with shift linkage. Ended up cutting the driver side in half so I could get it mounted. Once I get the rest of the car buttoned up I will get her to an exhaust shop to have them welded up. I like the way the look but they are going to cost a lot more than I was expecting. ...read more

I still have not fired up the motor, but it's like many of the reviews said with it being a great price for what you great. Yes, on my Ford 302 there are a couple of sparkplugs that are pain to get too and some the header bolts are about impossible get a torque wrench socket on, but I love the look and it mated up perfectly!

easiest headers I ever put on

Summit RacingSummit Racing Verified Purchase

SDK-C5ZZ-9430-BK
These are the easiest headers I ever put on a car besides shorties. They cleared everything with ease, literally just drop in from the top and bolt up I didn't have to move or take anything off they went right in. Good quality welds and appearance, all hardware and gaskets good quality.
