PerTronix Ignitor II® Solid-State Ignition Systems

Not ones to leave well enough alone, the engineers at PerTronix set out to improve upon their highly successful Ignitor® ignition conversion systems. The Ignitor II® conversion systems have all of the same quality features as the original Ignitor®, plus a powerful microprocessor controller to deliver, on average, 4x more available energy between 3,000 and 5,000 rpm than standard ignition systems. They're an ideal choice for collector car restoration because they fit entirely under the distributor cap. Order the model recommended for your year/make, distributor and engine application.

Features include:

* Compatible with 12 V negative ground systems and any induction coil
* High-rpm performance is improved when used with the PerTronix Flame-Thrower II super low- resistance (0.6 ohms) 45,000 V coil
* Adaptive dwell maintains peak energy throughout the entire rpm range, reducing misfires while improving engine performance
* Develops, on average, 2x more available plug voltage
* Peak current level is reached just prior to spark for maximum energy without heat build-up, increasing coil and module life
* Never change points again
* Adjusts spark timing at higher rpm to compensate for the inherent electronic delay
* Senses startup and develops more energy for quicker, easier starting
* Built-in reverse polarity and over-current protection shuts down the system, preventing component damage
* Cannot be used with solid core spark plug wires; suppression-style or spiral-wound spark plug wires must be used
