Chevrolet Performance Connect and Cruise ZZ454 Engine and Transmission Packages

Chevrolet Performance engineers did all the hard work, designing and calibrating carefully matched Connect and Cruise powertrain systems for optimal compatibility and performance—while also identifying the complementing engine and transmission controllers, torque converters and supporting installation kits. The specially calibrated controllers are designed for retrofit installations in older vehicles, for easier and quicker installation—and, more importantly—operation without the need for third-party tuning.

Connect and Cruise ZZ454 Engine and Transmission package details:

Chevrolet Performance ZZ454/440 long block crate engines offer tremendous value in a big block powerplant. They're based on the Gen VI 4-bolt mains with one-piece rear main seal blocks. Specs and features include:

* Approximately 9.6:1 compression
* 469 hp at 5,500 rpm
* 519 lbs.-ft. of torque at 3,7000 rpm
* Forged steel externally balanced crankshafts
* Forged steel connecting rods
* Forged aluminum pistons
* Hydraulic roller camshafts with .510 in. intake lift, .540 in. exhaust lift, 211° intake and 230° exhaust duration at .050 in., and 112 degree lobe centerline
* Aluminum cylinder heads with oval port 110cc combustion chambers
* 290cc intake runner volume with 2.190 in. intake valves and 1.88 in. exhaust
* Heads configured for 7/16 in. rocker arm studs
* Stamped steel, self-aligning, 1.7:1 ratio rocker arms
* ACDelco spark plugs
* Oil pan
* Black powdercoated aluminum valve covers and timing cover
* Long-style cast iron "V" belt rotation water pump
* 8 in. harmonic balancer

Chevrolet Performance Connect and Cruise ZZ454 Engine and Transmission packages are available with either an automatic or manual transmission.

Automatic transmission details:

The 4L85-E model is designed to replace your OEM transmission without any modifications needed. It's a direct bolt-on for Gen-I small blocks and all big blocks. The SuperMatic 4L85-E includes clutch plates allowing you to add up to 690 lbs.-ft. of torque. (Does not include torque converter.) Other features: four gears; lockup compatible; steel stock-style pan; slip-on yoke; hardened steel 30-spline input shaft; 2.48 first gear ratio; OEM-style aluminum case.

Manual transmission details:

Chevrolet Performance T-56 Super Magnum 6-speed transmissions offer the most in combined strength, versatility, and control. Plus, they're able to withstand an unbelievable torque capacity—700 lbs.-ft.—while providing crisp shifts! These beefed-up versions of the TR6060 will certainly fill your craving for high performance with larger components. Chevrolet Performance T-56 Super Magnum 6-speed transmissions combine greater strength with precision engineering to feed the passions of cruisers and track racers alike. Specs include:

* Designed for custom, retrofit installations of Chevrolet Performance LS crate engines
* Exterior case similar to fourth-generation F-body with stronger, high-capacity gear sets, input shaft and output shaft used in the TR6060
* 26-spline input shaft
* 31-spline output shaft
* Slip-yoke design
* Gear ratios: first through sixth—2.66, 1.78, 1.30, 1.00, .80, .63
* 40-tooth reluctor ring for use with electronic vehicle speed sensors in Chevrolet Performance controllers
* Accommodates three shifter positions
* Includes: 2-position shifter plate, shifter handle, ball-type shifter knob with Chevrolet Performance logo
