These headers were designed to fit factory small block engines with factory heads and feature collectors that exit at two different heights to accommodate multiple vehicle applications. Raised port heads, D-port heads or non-stock plug locations may cause gasket leaks and header fitment issues that require modifications to fit. Will not fit angle plug cylinder heads. Tube numbers 1 and 6 have a factory dent to allow plug clearance. Will not fit with close ratio steering box or rack conversions. Lowered ride heights may result in insufficient ground clearance. Factory style motor mounts must be used. Will work with factory air conditioning with the use of Hooker brackets, see the "Required Parts" tab. These headers are vibratory polished which does not leave a bright finish.
Hooker Competition Headers
Hooker Competition headers are designed for stock or mildly modified engines for the value-conscious buyer. Made from durable 16-gauge steel, Competition headers feature 5/16 in. thick flanges that are heavy enough to maintain header integrity, yet pliable enough to seal each exhaust port. Unless otherwise noted, these headers are designed to fit the vehicle as it came from the manufacturer. This includes components like cylinder heads, chassis, steering, motor mounts, body mounts and bushings, etc. If your vehicle is using aftermarket components, parts from other applications, or custom altered parts, then it is the installer's responsibility to verify fitment.
