Helix Disc Brake Rotors

Helix offers disc brake rotors for a variety of applications, including many Ford cars and trucks from the 1920s, '30s, and '40s. These aftermarket vehicle parts are designed for hot rods, custom builds, and restomods (older cars restored with modern parts). They help your car stop safely and consistently.

How they work:

* When you press your brake pedal, hydraulic fluid squeezes brake pads (friction blocks) against both sides of the spinning metal rotor. This friction slows the rotor and your wheels down. Because this process creates immense heat, these vented rotors use internal hollow channels to allow air to pass through, keeping the metal from overheating.

Here is what makes Helix rotors unique:

* Drilled and Slotted Surface: The rotors have holes drilled through them and grooves cut into the surface. These let heat escape faster and sweep away water and brake dust for better grip.
* High-Carbon Iron: They're cast with high-carbon iron, which handles heat much better than standard steel and helps prevent warping when you brake hard.
* Wear Indicators: The holes on the rotor act as built-in wear indicators. As the metal wears away, the holes get smaller, showing you exactly when it's time to replace them.
