CTA Tools GM Belt Tension Compressor Tools
Replacing the engine drive belt or alternator on GM vehicles require the belt to be removed, and the tensioner spring must be compressed to allow the belt to be disengaged from the pulleys. CTA's GM belt tension compressor tools are specialized tools designed to help simplify engine drive belt and alternator replacement. These belt tension compressor tools compress the spring-loaded arm of the belt tensioner pulley, which is responsible for maintaining proper tension on the serpentine belt. Tool use: locate the belt tensioner pulley, position the tool against the tensioner arm, and turn the handle on the tool clockwise to compress the spring and relieve tension.
