Standard center distance of 5.044 in. Different camshaft manufacturers put the camshaft dowel in 2 different locations for these engines. Ford originally required both dots to be placed at the 12 o'clock positions then the camshaft to be rotated to insure the timing was correct. Other manufacturers have compensated for this and switched to the typical arrangement.
