American Iron Off-Road ball joint deletes for Jeeps (2018-current) work like the early model Jeep system while solving the late model shaft failure issue that can lead to the lower ball joint getting punched out, with the upper joint soon following suit. With this system, the upper presses in from the top, the lower from the bottom. In the event of a shaft failure where the lower assembly is contacted, the upper joint features a ledge keeping the outer knuckle from falling off completely.
