AiM Sports RPM-CAN Converters
AiM Sports RPM-CAN converters are compact, plug-and-play devices designed to capture analog RPM signals (from ignition coils or ECU outputs) and convert them into CAN bus data. They enable vehicles without a modern CAN-based ECU, such as older or modified racing cars, to send engine speed data to modern AiM dashes and loggers.
Additional details:
* ECU-less vehicle compatibility: Allows older engines to log RPM data to devices like the AiM PDM08, PDM32, or SmartyCam
* Simple installation: Connects via a 5-50 V square-wave signal from an ECU or to the low-voltage side of an ignition coil (150-400 V)
* CAN output: Transmits data via CAN High (white wire) and CAN Low (blue wire)
* Power requirement: Operates within a 9-15 V DC range
* These converters are essential for integrating modern data acquisition systems on engines that do not natively support CAN networking
* Used in drag race, street performance, and autocross/road course applications
