They're forged from 4032 aluminum, an alloy containing silicon—which controls the thermal expansion for tighter piston-to-wall clearances. This unique alloy and design reduces piston wobble, limits noise, improves piston ring seating, and increases the overall life of skirts and pin bores. The special coating on these forged pistons adds extra protection from both skirt scuffing during cold starts or on an overheated engine.
