Thank you for your question. Are you replacing 26 spline axles? If so you will also need the GM 7.6" 28 spline open carrier part# GM7.6E to use the 1931-LR. The internal dimensions between the 26 & 28 spline carriers are different and will not interchange.

Well i did manage to get the 28 spline axles in the 26 spline axle carrier. Just put a small brake hone in my die grinder and honed it out. Didn't have to change carriers. And now i have bigger axles and the lockright in the 7-5/8" 1988 rear axle. Takes a little time but well worth not having to swap out carriers.

Thank you for your question. There are a lot of variables that can effect the life span of a locker. Lock Right lockers have been in vehicles for over a 100,000 miles with proper oil change intervals. Clicking can be heard during cornering noise level varies based on applications. The clicking can be louder in Cars, Vans, & SUVs vs Pick up Trucks since the rear axle is closer to the passenger compartment.

Thank you for your question. Yes 1931-LR will fit in a 1988-2004 GM 7.6" 2(3.08 & down) or 3 (3.23 & up) series open carrier. The internal dimensions are the same between both open carriers and the difference is the location of the flange for the ring gear.

This locker uses the stock c-clips and it works fairly quietly on the street.
