Turbosmart Oil Filter Screens

Turbosmart oil filter screens are washable, stainless steel mesh filters (typically rated at 44 microns) designed to protect performance turbochargers from engine debris. By capturing tiny particles in the oil feed line, they act as low-restriction "insurance" to prevent bearing damage without dropping vital oil pressure. These oil filter screens are a critical safeguard for high-performance vehicles.

Additional details:

* The Problem They Solve: Turbochargers spin at incredibly high speeds (often exceeding 100,000 rpm) and rely on a thin film of engine oil to float on tiny bearings. If even a microscopic piece of metal debris gets into the oil feed, it can destroy the turbocharger in seconds.
* Micron Size Explained: A micron is one-millionth of a meter. Turbosmart screens use a 44-micron mesh. To put that in perspective, a single grain of human sand is about 50 to 70 microns wide, meaning this screen traps particles that are virtually invisible to the naked eye but large enough to score turbo bearings.
* Minimal Restriction: Unlike restrictive paper filters that can starve a turbo of oil, these specialized stainless steel screens are designed for maximum oil flow.
* Washable and Reusable: Because they're made of tough stainless steel, the screens can be removed and cleaned during regular oil changes rather than needing total replacement.
* Where They Go: They are typically placed inline on the turbocharger's oil feed line or built directly into Turbosmart's OPR (Oil Pressure Regulator) units
