Standard Motor battery terminal protectors provide a barrier against acid fumes that seep through improperly sealed batteries and cause battery corrosion. They are made from felt gasket material and then saturated in a corrosion preventative lubricant that does not dry out or evaporate. Corrosive build-up on battery terminals can degrade connection over time, resulting in power dampening or even power loss.
