Moroso LT Swap Front Sump Oil Pans
Moroso LT swap front sump oil pans are specialty components designed to retrofit GM Gen V LT engines (LT1, LT4, L83, L86) into classic or modified vehicles. They alter the factory oil sump location and depth to clear crossmembers, steering components, and chassis obstructions in custom engine swap projects while preventing oil starvation during aggressive driving. These oil pans offer solutions to common clearance and oil-control issues during conversions:
* Chassis Clearance: Because factory LT oil pumps and pickups are integrated deeply into the pan, swapping these motors into older muscle cars or trucks usually creates clearance issues. Moroso pans are built with shallow front depths (i.e., 1 7/8 in.) and strategically shaped sumps to tuck neatly above your steering and suspension
* Superior Oil Control: To prevent oil starvation under hard acceleration, braking, or cornering, these pans include race-proven features like trap-door baffling and removable windage trays
* Integrated Adaptability: Many units feature billet aluminum O-ring rails and adapters that allow you to use a standard 22mm spin-on oil filter in the factory location, eliminating the need for a bulky remote filter setup
* Fabricated vs. Cast: Moroso designs both fabricated aluminum pans and cast aluminum housings. The fabricated models save weight, offer higher oil capacity, and easily accept custom fittings
