Who is that crazy man that looks like a cross between Albert Einstein and Bob Ross? It's Rich Bosch, proprietor of DeBoss Garage, back with another great how-two video.
He did a great job doing a video on installing a Right Stuff Detailing rear disc brake conversion on a 1967 Pontiac GTO. So when he asked for some help on a how-to video on installing an Eaton Posi Performance differential in the GTO's 12-bolt rear axle, of course we said heck yeah.
Not only does Rich take you through the steps of installing the Eaton differential and a Richmond Gear ring and pinion gear set, he also teaches a valuable lesson on knowing your GM 12-bolt axles and differentials--they are not all the same and using the wrong parts in the wrong axle can cost you wasted time and money.
You'll also find out why Rich went with a 3.08 gear ratio instead of a 3.73 or other hot rod ratio. It will make perfect sense.
Everything turned out fine, and all is well in Deboss Garage world. Here are the parts Rich used:
• Eaton Posi Performance Differential
• Richmond Gear Ring and Pinion Gear Set, 3.08 ratio
• Summit Racing Ring and Pinion Installation Kit
