Why the iron insert? Truck engines, especially diesels, exert enormous pressure on the top rings. Without the insert, the ring would beat itself against the piston’s softer aluminum alloy, eventually destroying both. The Dualoy pistons’ iron insert provides a very hard surface for the top ring to ride against without damaging itself or the piston.

Dualoy Diesel Pistons are available for popular light-duty diesels in standard bore and oversizes depending on the application. They are available in weight-matched sets with pins for Ford International and Powerstroke; Dodge/RAM Cummins; and GM Duramax diesels. Some applications are also available in sets with piston rings.
