Classic Chevy Grip Lives on with American Retro 15-Inch Steering Wheels

Upgrade your classic Chevy’s interior with an American Retro 15-Inch Steering Wheel. These precision-built reproductions deliver authentic vintage styling with a modern, driver-friendly feel. Available for popular Chevy applications like the 1966 Impala, 1963 Corvette, and 1978–87 full size trucks, these wheels provide the perfect finishing touch for restorations, restomods, and daily-driven classics.

American Retro Steering Wheels are engineered to closely replicate original factory designs. They’re made from modern materials with careful attention to vintage detailing, so they are both durable and stay true to the originals while improving comfort and control. The steering wheels also have reduced diameters compared to the oversized stock units, giving drivers more legroom and a more responsive feel—especially beneficial for vehicles upgraded to power steering. The result is a driving experience that maintains a period-correct appearance without sacrificing usability.

Other features include:
• Center emblem/logo is interchangeable with stock and reproduction emblems
• Reuses original horn, hardware, and turn signal switch parts
• Chrome center cap and/or horn ring included on models originally equipped

Black finish 1966 Impala and 1978-87 full size truck steering wheels can be painted to match your vehicle. Steering wheels for 1963 Corvette are available in Riverside Red, Tuxedo Black, Saddle Tan, and Daytona Blue with the correct pebble grain texture and brushed stainless steel frames.

American Retro 15-Inch Steering Wheels for 1966 Impala, 1963 Corvette, and 1978–87 full size rucks fit stock columns as well as ididit, Flaming River, and other GM-style aftermarket steering columns. An ididit Steering Wheel Adapter Kit is needed to retain the tilt function on 1963 Corvettes.

In addition to these vehicles, American Retro offers steering wheels for numerous other vintage Chevy, GM, and Ford vehicles.
