The OEM column shifter lever in your classic GM or Ford was designed to work with the factory 16- to 18-inch diameter steering wheels. When you upgrade to a smaller 15-inch steering wheel for greater comfort and steering responsiveness, those levers will stick out way past the wheel—not exactly the look you want in your classic’s cockpit. Plus, the protruding levers can get in the way when making turns or getting in and out of the vehicle.

American Retro solves these issues with its proportionally accurate Column Shift Lever Kits. These kits come with shortened steel levers that function flawlessly and look factory-correct with 15-inch steering wheels.

Each kit features original-style black, white, or chrome knobs and chrome-plated or black levers.

The American Retro Column Shift Lever Kits are available for GM and Ford cars and trucks from the mid-1950s through 1980. All kits include a shift lever and turn signal lever. Kits with a tilt steering lever and an emergency flasher knob are designed to fit Ididit, Flaming River, and most aftermarket tilt steering columns. Kits without a tilt steering lever fit factory steering columns.
