I spent 2 grands for this unit, new tank, in tank fuel pump, plumbing and other misc. pieces to make this thing works on my high dollar fresh bbc. Excited to see how it performs.First started in early September, it flooded my engine and shuts off within few seconds! Triple checked everything...valve timing, ignition timing (even got a whole new MSD setup), cleaned spark plugs, check for vacuum leaks and tried new setup several times. Same result. This thing simply doesn't see how much gas is pouring in. Can't see why that O2 sensor is there. Hours of research and talked with Holley tech. department and they acted like I don't know anything about cars! finally, they blamed bad fuel pressure. OK, let's check this: ordered fuel gauge and fitting. Checked fine about 59 PSI. Called summit this time (good luck to reach Holley) after one hour we got to the point this unit might be defective?! Ordered another one and I received it in 2 days (thanks Summit). Oh boy, same thing here. Start, 5 second run and you can't even breath around your garage and it shuts off. This time I was lucky to get to talk with someone in Holley. Asked to save datalog and email it to them, maybe my engine has different requirements! I've been trying to make this only "idle" for a month by now. Still hoping they can make this right, but at this point, I'm really doubtful about reliability of this setup. Being said, I've not got to even see how it idles! And No, looks like this is not a self learning thing, It's unable to simply calculates how much fuel flow needed at idle. I wanted to drive this car before store it for winter, but looks like it won't happen. Never had such a hassle with carburetors before. Will update this if anything changes. ...read more

First off let me say ive been working on cars and motorcycles for over 40yrs. I'm a machinist and metal fabricator by trade. I purchased this kit to install on my stroker 400 chevy small block. I got tired of the usual carb problems. Well I am beyond happy with the install. Started first time and runs better than any carb could possibly run. I did have to do some changes to the iac valve settings, but other than that iit runs flawless with tons of torque and midrange w/ no hesitation whatsoever.. If you want to do a professional install job, plan on spending several weekends. And you will want to purchase teflon steel braided line, not rubber efi hose. Also purchase a quality fuel pressure guage. I dont think this has ever been brought up, but you can install a gauge off one of the extra inlet ports. Just purchase a -6 port adapter. Ive noticed a few bad reviews on this kit and I believe these are probably user error and bad installs. I have a saying "Everybody thinks there a mechanic " ...read more

Finally made the switch to efi and can't be happier. This system is very easy to install and fired up on the first try. Finished the install on Christmas Eve so I don't have a lot miles on it yet but I can tell that the throttle response is amazing and the idle is much smoother. Very nice system!! I highly recommend this product.

Third Holley Sniper Install

Summit RacingSummit Racing Verified Purchase

SNE-550-511
While my shop is in a small town I have installed several EFI systems 6 GM style tbi units on car and trucks that were stock -- 1 Fast EFI -- 3 FiTech and 3 Holley Snipers -- the Holley Sniper is hands down the simplest to install and set up .. I have installed the fuel pumps on the frame as well as in the tank .. I have to say that spending the time and $$$ to put the pump in the tank is the way to go .. if you are working the very popular G-body order a tank for Monte Carlo that had factory TBI and the sending unit .. just be sure you use the correct pump .. and make sure you hook the return to the correct inlet and not the vent .. also for the very popular Chevy truck use a gas sending unit for a 1988-1994 Chevy truck and the correct pump .. have done this and it works .. no fuel pump noise .. have tried the "command center" by FiTech 2 times I my opinion it is a big waste of time .. I have a former engineer (work for the gas company) that installed a Holley sniper on a Ford Torino .. the outlet for the tank is in the bottom of the tank .. he wanted to put the pump on the frame and use a Corvette style fuel filter .. had to be a bit creative to get a return into the filler neck .. everything worked as planned .. as far as the degree of difficulty .. getting the fuel system on is the hardest part .. next is getting the wires hidden .. but the prep work makes the difference .. plan out the fuel system before you start just slapping on the parts. ...read more

Great EFI System

Summit RacingSummit Racing Verified Purchase

SNE-550-511
Installed this on my 1967 Chevelle SS. It was easy to install, instructions are well written. The system performed perfectly at first start. So far has eliminated my vapor lock problems I was getting with my carburetor, which is why I converted to this system in the first place. Great affordable system.
